#1610 The Beast
This Superyacht Award winning 39m explorer catamaran, designed for experienced owners Sir Michael and Lady Christine Hill, breaks the conventional superyacht layout and styling mould to offer a practical expedition vessel under 500 gross tons, modelled along commercial boat lines with a dominant presence – and a name to match.
The large volume displacement catamaran hull form with high tunnel clearance offers excellent sea keeping and an extensive range at cruising speed.
A primary design feature of this superyacht in wolves clothing is the large aft deck – reminiscent of those found normally on workboats – that is able to support a full range of tenders and water toys, including a 13m custom built sports fisher (complete with tuna tower) – and a 9m amphibious RIB.
Accommodation is provided for up to 12 guests plus crew. When the owner and guests are not out on the tenders, there are a number of indoor and outdoor entertainment spaces to enjoy. Most impressive is the open top deck with expansive views. This upper level with large cover protects a generous seating area and even a restaurant style Teppanyaki grill.
A sheltered seating and day area near the transom offers excellent proximity to the water, with ample deck lounging space nearby. The 2 large wet decks on offer have adjacent workshops and storage making them suitable for fishing and diving.
The Beast, has been designed to meet full Lloyds Classification (G6 service group) and since launch, has covered many, many ocean miles around New Zealand and the Pacific islands.
