#1402 24m  Work Boat Catamaran Wavepiercer

 

Delivered in 2017 as Offshore Express and operated in Australia and Papua New Guinea, this wavepiercer catamaran was later renamed Southern Express, and now works out of New Plymouth, New Zealand as a multi-purpose work boat servicing the local oil and gas industry. Duties include cargo and crew transport, survey, dive support, ROV ops etc.

The boat operates in rugged, offshore conditions – her skipper describing operations at times in 70 knots of wind with huge seas – “uncomfortable for the crew, but the boat loves it”. The 8m x 9m aft deck is rated for 110 tonnes and the boat is equipped with a moon pool and 5 tonne A-frame gantry.
